| January 1 - No Meeting - Happy New Year January 8 - Testimonies by Luncheon Attendees January 15 - Linda B Welch, Realtor, Excalibur Realty Group which specializes in residential, commercial and land sales throughout the metro area. Linda was born and raised in Atlanta and working for her parents' diner after school for years lead her to Shoney's where she went from waitress to the first female general manager in the 1970's. She went back to school, and in 1979 joined the sales force of a large corporate food service company selling food to local restaurants, hotels, etc. and moved into management as a represenative to all the major health care organizations in Georgia. She was one of the top five health care dietary contract sales people in the country and was once nominated for Georgia Young Business Woman of the Year. After recently spending ten months out of work, Linda went back to school and got her real estate license. January 22 - Jack Beecher, President of Beecher Financial Services & Wealth Management, Inc., which offers stocks, bonds, mutual funds, variable life & variable annuity products, IRA retirement accounts and managed money accounts through a major independent brokerage firm. Jack has worked as an aerospace engineer, been in regional sales management for an international chemical company, and general management for a modular construction company in the petrochemical industry. He has been in the financial services industry for the last 15 years, starting with the Merrill Lynch and A.G. Edwards & Sons in the Sarasota, Florida areas. He attended the University of Florida, LSU and Tulane University. January 29 - Testimonies by Luncheon Attendees February 5 - Cecil Flowe, Teacher and Head Football Coach, Parkview High School. Cecil began his teaching career at Redan High School and taught at Sequoyah High School and Stone Mountain High School before coming to Parkview. He became the Parkview Panthers head football coach in 1993, and has won 45 straight games, breaking the Georgia high school record. The Panthers were 1995 state runner-up and won the state championship in 1997, 2000, 2001, and 2002. Coach Flowe was named the State Coach of the Year for the year 2001 season and has been named Southeast United States football coach of the year by American Football Monthly. In his spare time, he teaches at the Nascar Winston Cup driving school, Speedtech Auto Racing School, based in Charlotte. February 12 - Darrel Chaney, Advisor to the Board of Directors of Tab Merchandising, Inc., a national large scale, mass merchant facility set-up, remodel, reset and conversion specialist. Darrel also sells real estate for Upcountry Realty in Helen, Georgia. He has had 25 years of experience in real estate and relocation sales and is also a sales motivational and inspirational speaker. During his 14 seasons as a professional baseball player, Darrell played for the Cincinatti Reds and the Atlanta Braves. While with the Reds, he played in three World Series and was a member of the 1975 "Big Red Machine" World Champions. Darrel has also been a broadcaster on radio and TV for the Atlanta Braves and during his career, he was a commercial spokesman for numerous companies. FEB. 19 - Patti Warner, Director of Residency Services for Medical Doctors Associates (MDA), a Norcross-based physician staffing firm which has placed over 1500 physicians at hospital and clinic sites in all 50 states. Prior to her present position, Patty was a physician recruiter for eight years with MDA. She has also worked as Director of Women's and Children's Services in a rescue mission and ran her own group home in Illinois which cared for children who had been abused. Patty has two foster children of her own. Patty also has experience in the real estate field having worked in real estate in both Illinois and Florida. FEB. 26 - Coleman Rudolph, Second Vice President-Investments, Smith Barney, a financial institution offering an extensive platform of planning services, institutional services, investor education, lending services, private business services, and wealth management. Coleman attended Georgia Tech where he was an All ACC Academic and a starter on the 1990 National Championship team. He was drafted by the New York Jets in 1992, playing four years with both the New York Jets and the Giants. |
